After trying over and over again we finally did it! We built a web page! We are looking forward to sharing engaging news about the Dog Park, information on events, a place for sponsorship recognition, Dog of the Month, and more! Again this is only the beginning so bear with us and the page will grow. We look forward to having you with us for the ride!

The Second Annual Nick Mowers Dog Park Spooky Pooch Halloween Costume Contest

We had a blast at the Nick Mowers Dog Park for the Spooky Pooch Costume Contest on October 5th. There were so many great costumes it was hard to pick a winner! The best part about the weekend was donating all of the awesome dog and cat food donations to the Pennsville Animal Shelter. We would like to thank our sponsor PV Pets for donating so much to this event. We would also like to thank the vendors, volunteers, judges, the Helping Hands Kids Club and most of all the people who brought their dogs to dress up for the contest.  This has turned out to be a great event that we will continue to have at the dog park! We are already looking forward to next year! Check out this pic of our 1st, 2nd and 3rd place winners!

The Dog Park gets a Facelift

The Nick Mowers Dog Park has been through many transformations in its short time but the steps we took this summer were big steps to turning the park into something really special. 

The face lift started with shrubs and mulch being laid out in the front of the park. That really added a lot of beauty to the sign which is a great focal point. Next we battled with WEEDS! We thought we had them crushed last year before the 1st Spooky Pooch Costume Contest with our community clean day and help from some awesome volunteers.  We soon found out we were wrong. The weeds came back this summer with a vengeance! But there was help on the way.

After an exhaustive search we finally found an exclusive landscaping company to come in and save the day. NGS Landscaping took the job without batting an eye and had the park looking beautiful in no time.  They obliterated the weeds, laid down new weed blankets, and replenished the much. Now it feels like you are walking on a cloud!

There was still one more step to be complete. After a last minute request to NGS to pour some cement we were able to install benches! With benches installed and the mulch looking beautiful we can finally say we are happy with our results but this is only the beginning. We have ideas and plans for obstacles for the dogs to play and shade structures for over the benches.  Once we can we will have them installed. Stay tuned.
