A Bit About Us

Why We Do What We Do

The Nick Mowers Dog Park was established in April of 2018 as a free dog park for residents of Pennsville Township and the surrounding areas.  The Dog Park is a great place for owners and their dogs to run, fetch, jump and play in a gated, mulched area. We have a small dog side and a large dog side. With each side having its own separate introduction area with water and benches for owners to sit while their dogs play.

The Nick Mowers Dog Park is 100% developed and maintained by a group of about five or six people dedicated to keeping the park looking beautiful and fun for the dogs and their owners. Most importantly the Nick Mowers Dog Park costs the taxpayers of Pennsville nothing because everything is built on money raised from donations and The Nick Mowers 5K.

The Dog Park is a labor of love for everyone involved because it is a memorial to our friend who passed very suddenly of a brain aneurysm on June 25, 2013. Nick graduated from Pennsville Memorial High School and was a Middle School Art teacher, College Art Professor, and Metal Smith in Wilmington, NC. He loved music, his dogs, anything outdoors, and was an all around great guy. Those who knew and loved Nick miss him everyday and this park is a great way for us to keep his memory in our hearts.

So if you ever visit the dog park take a look at the sign and know that is Nick and his dog Kaya in that silhouette looking down and smiling at all of the joy the park provides.
